Garmin Forerunner 945 watch is, as for me, one of the most amazing tool for runners, cycists, swimmers and ethusiasts of many other sport .

Since Forerunner 935 model, Garmin added mey smart features.

Here the detail of my ten preffered features I use most (plus 3 bonus):

Let's go in order: the TORCH may seem useless but I use it every day! I think it is super usefull to find the key hole when arriving at home or during the night if you need to get out of bed and you don't want to annoy other people. Must try!

I use at least once a day the COUNTDOWN TIMER... It is a must have when cooking pasta! I set the timer to the correct cook time and when the alarm starts the pasta is perfectly cooked!

SMART NOTIFICATIONS are an amazing inventions! You connect your phone to the Garmin Forerunner 945 and when a call arrive, your watch will sounds an alarm and start vibrate. You can answer the phone or not or even replay with an SMS!

BODY BATTERY is very useful to understand how many energies remains in your body. You may have less energies after an hard workout or after a bad night. Your watch will tell you how many energies you recovered after a rest day.

Setting up WORKOUTS is one of the best feature Garmin watches have. You can create a new workout directly from the watch, from Garmin Connect app or via the Garmin Connect website. Then you can add the new workout to the calendar and when you go aout for a ride you need only to run!

PULSE OX helps you to monitor acclimation. When in high mountains, air have less oxygen and your body need some acclimatization day to transport the correct amount of oxygen from air to your lungs. Unfortunately during Coronavirus pandemc this value gained a new significate... when you get that virus, your saturation goes down anchd pulse ox can monitor this value.... It not obviusly very precise but can give you an idea of the quantity of oxygen in your blood and its variations.

SUNRISE AND SUNSET  are useful when you go and train late in the evening or early in the morning. Using this information you can always know when light will disappear/appear.

TEMPERATURE is useful to get calories consumption value and body battery more precise. This field is more reliable if you get an external sensor like the Garmin Tempe.

HYDRATION helps monitoring the amount of water you get during the day (or a workout). I think the actual widget is not 100% ready. I found it a little bit uncomfortable to use. Hope Garmin will update it soon...Ed ora i tre BONUS:

JMG-DTF CYCLING VO2 MAX is a data field that estimate the cycling VO2 MAX value. I'm not sure it is 100% reliable but, again, you have at least an indication....

MUSIC: you can store a lot of MP3 track into your Garmin Forerunner 945. Then you can connect a bluetooth headphone or earbuds and listening to the music without a smartphone or an MP3 player. 

GARMIN PAY is another amazing feature. Imagine paying using your watch. No more wallet or money in your pockets, nor smartphone, only your watch!!
